Epilogue

Looking back, to look forward

In preparation of this magazine, we had to look back at the accomplishments of the last years. It is truly inspiring to see the sector getting stronger due to international collaboration. We are merely at the border where innovation really happens for patients and society, and it is therefore an honour to work with partners from industry, government, and academia that make this possible. Without the international public-private collaborations, we would not have been able to come this far to tackle our societal and economical challenges. However, the urgency of continuing all our efforts and expanding the ecosystem is high and there is a lot of work to be done.

As geopolitical relations have shifted considerably in recent years, our global open economic system and multilateral trading system have come under increasing pressure. If we want to further strengthen the Dutch economy

and the effectiveness of Dutch companies, we must act with an international perspective, meaning we must identify what our place is in the international value chain and how we can further expand and strengthen it.

Maintaining our position

The significant increase in investments in the knowledge and innovation ecosystem distinguishes the Netherlands from competitive regions within Europe. This stimulates exports and scientific cooperation in a global market. In the coming years we need to make sure to maintain and expand this strong position.

Thank you

Thanks to all our partners that help us voice the wishes form the industry and with their help to support startups, SME’s and multinationals;

The Task Force Health Care, HollandBIO, Dutch Association Innovative Medicines (VIG), VNO-NCW, Dutch Basecamp and Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA). And thanks to our public partners Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, thanks to the partners that offer space in their locations to make networking possible and the numerous companies that help us form the dialogue.

A special thanks to all our Topteam members that support us relentlessly with their strategic guidance . With a new international strategy coming up, we will continue to build on an even stronger ecosystem in these coming four years. I am looking forward to even further connect partners within the ecosystem.
